Overview:
The path to earning the Professional Geologist license or Geologist In Training certificate may appear confusing to those unfamiliar with Pennsylvania’s licensing process.  This webinar will review the complete workflow from assembling application materials, constructing a successful amplified record, submitting the application through the online PALs system, to registering for and taking the ASBOG exam(s).

High points:
This webinar will thoroughly explain the process of applying for and earning the PG license or GIT certificate in Pennsylvania.  A flow chart and timeline will be provided to help candidates meet application deadlines.  Strategies for documenting educational requirements, providing a robust amplified record, and assembling professional references will be covered.  The various agencies, organizations, and systems involved in the licensing process (e.g., PCPG, DOS, Licensing Board, ASBOG, PALs, Pearson VUE) will be reviewed to help applicants understand who reviews their materials.  Finally, a list of resources will be provided to assist applicants as questions arise.

Who Should Attend:
Senior geology students, recent graduates, or experienced geologic professionals who are seeking the PG license or GIT certificate should take this course participate in this webinar.  We also welcome educators, a broad range of scientists, environmental professionals, engineers, and other professionals who would like to learn more about who may qualify for professional geologist licensure in Pennsylvania.

Anticipated Outcome(s):
After this webinar, attendees should be prepared to construct and submit a successful application to sit for the exams to earn the GIT certificate or PG license in Pennsylvania.
